Sandbox buyers

How to approve a hold with a PayPal sandbox buyer, and what to try when the PayPal window gives trouble.

The buyer logins are not published here or in the repository. They are in the Devpost testing instructions. Without them, use the scripted demo, which needs no login.

Start a room

Open the web app and press "Start a demo auction" (or open /try). The room lasts about thirty minutes.

Join as a bidder

Open the big screen link in a second window, or scan its QR code. Enter a name and pick a ceiling.

Approve the hold

Press and hold the approve button for 3 seconds (a two-tap alternative sits below it). In the PayPal sandbox window, log in with the sandbox buyer from the Devpost field.

Bid and hammer

Place a bid, then press hammer in the console. The winner is captured for the winning price only and the other holds are released. The receipt and the audit trail show the result.
